Seema Shah

Audiological Scientist & Hearing Aid Consultant

Seema Rupani Shah is a Consultant Audiologist with over two decades of experience in comprehensive adult hearing care and aural rehabilitation. She holds a BSc in Audiology and Speech Rehabilitation and a Master’s degree in Audiological Science with Distinction from University College London (UCL), and trained and worked in leading UK tertiary centres including the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals, the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, and Great Ormond Street Hospital. In addition to hospital practice, she also ran an independent audiology practice in London, developing strong expertise in long-term rehabilitation, personalised care and continuity of service. Seema is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (UK) and the Kenya Health Professions Oversight Authority, and practises in line with internationally recognised professional and ethical standards. At SNR Hearing, she provides clinical leadership and governance, supervising and mentoring junior audiologists, audiology assistants and technicians to ensure that all assessments, fittings, rehabilitation and aftercare are delivered consistently to rigorous best-practice protocols. Her role includes oversight of clinical decision-making, adherence to evidence-based pathways, outcome measurement and continuous professional development across the team, ensuring that patient care is never device-led but always outcome-driven. In recognition of her clinical and professional contribution to hearing healthcare and disability prevention, she is a recipient of the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear, a Presidential National Honour awarded in Kenya. Alongside her clinical work, she has contributed extensively to global hearing health as a Trustee of the Impact Foundation, the Hearing Conservation Council and The Butterfly Trust, and as a member of the Executive Committee of WWHearing, supporting training, service development and access to hearing care across East Africa. She speaks fluent English, Gujarati and Hindi and can conduct consultations in these languages when required.

Dr Harish Rupani

Ear, Nose and Throat and Head & Neck Surgeon

Dr Harish Rupani is a highly respected Ear, Nose and Throat and Head & Neck Surgeon whose career has been defined by decades of exceptional clinical service, leadership and humanitarian contribution. Although now retired from active surgical practice, he continues to offer limited outpatient consultations, and his depth of experience remains an invaluable resource to the clinic and its patients. Based in Nairobi, his work over many years has spanned complex ENT care, hearing health and head and neck surgery, as well as advising on the development of ENT and hearing services across several African countries. He established Kenya’s first non-profit hearing centre and the first terminal cancer care centre in Nairobi, and has personally led training programmes and humanitarian surgical initiatives in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi, Bangladesh and Cambodia. His broader contributions have included work in disability prevention, community health and social rehabilitation, and he is the founder of Impact East Africa. In recognition of his outstanding service to healthcare and society, he is a recipient of the Silver Star of Kenya, a national honour awarded by the President of Kenya.

Alongside Dr Rupani’s continued advisory presence, SNR Hearing works within a growing multidisciplinary network of audiologists and physicians, allowing us to provide integrated, ethical and comprehensive hearing and ENT care. Seema has been bestowed with the prestigious Presidential National Award of Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (Jamhuri Day Honours 2021) by HE The President Uhuru Kenyatta and The First Lady Margaret Kenyatta. She has been recognized for Clinical & Professional Excellence and contribution to the lives of people living with hearing loss, and prevention of disability, at local, national and international levels.
